Late last week, manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment followed up its previous week’s announcements of six new manga acquisitions, with two more new additions, both involving Go Nagai’s Devilman.
The first of the two new announcements, is the Devilman: The Classic Collection, the original manga by Go Nagai, published in 1972. The series follows Akira Fudo, a young man who struggles to harness the power of Amon, a demon, while transforming in to Devilman.
The series will be published as two, large trim hardcover omnibus editions. The first volume is slated for release on Mar. 6, 2018 ($27.99). This will give fans of the classic series the perfect opportunity to revisit the story, as Netflix premieres the original Devilman: Crybaby anime.
Devilman VS. Hades is a standalone sequel, continuing Akira’s adventures. In this title, Akira’s journey takes him to hell, it also sees Devilman facing off against the legendary mecha Mazinger Z.
Seven Seas will be releasing Devilman VS. Hades as single volume softcover editions. The first is expected to be available on Feb. 13, 2018 ($12.99).
In case you missed out on the publisher’s other announcements, the six new titles added to their catalog are, OKAYADO’s MaMaMa: Magical Director Mako-chan’s Magical Guidance, DNA Doesn’t Tell Us (DNA wa Oshietekurenai) by Mintarou, Sorry for My Familiar by Tekka Yaguraba, Hiroaki Yoshikawa’s Crisis Girls, High-Rise Invasion (Tenkuu Shinpan) by Tsuina Miura and Takahiro Oba, and Mononoke Sharing by coolkyoushinja.
