Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, will be receiving a physical release on PlayStation 4 when it arrives on July 18th, 2017. Not only that, but limited editions will also be available from Merge Games’ Signature Edition Store. Developer Prideful Sloth is also releasing Yonder on PC, and has said they will consider other platforms based on sale performance.
For those unfamiliar, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is a 3D open-world RPG that has an artstyle reminiscent of games such as The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Though it may look similar, Yonder differs in a big way as there is no combat to speak of. Your mission is to clear “Murk”, which is an evil presence inhabiting the world, and to do so you will need to collect sprites by completing quests, farming, exploring, and much more.
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles looks to allow you to enter the world of Gemea and become lost in it without having to worry about combat. They want to focus on the world building and exploration, and it looks to be an interesting take on the genre.
