Over the last two years, children of the apple have waited eagerly for the next installment in the beloved franchise. For the last two years, faithful Assassins have been wondering what was to come next in the Assassin’s Creed franchise after a rumor emerged hinting at the next Assassin’s Creed game taking place in Egypt. Although the world reveal for Assassin’s Creed Origins is less than two weeks away, a potential leak may have occurred revealing the new protagonist for Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Yesterday afternoon, a Facebook page known as Le Verità dell’Animus released an image showing off a supposed leak of Assassin’s Creed Origins merchandise on the Assassin’s Creed Reddit. Since then, more images have been released that makes the leak believable. The new merchandise was rumored to have arrived on May 30th to be used as promotional items for the upcoming game.
Based on the images, the rumor that Assassin’s Creed Origins will be set in Egypt also seems to be confirmed with an Egyptian style version of the Assassin’s logo. Below is a closer look at the crest on the back of the shirt.
The original image of the shirt shared on Reddit probably is the most telling showing the potential protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Origins. The character is carrying a bow and shield while appearing to be decked out with the franchised look of Assassin’s Creed with the hidden blade gauntlets, all in an Egyptian style. The Character named Ba Yek might be one of the earliest assassins to date if the year on the top of the picture is an indication of when Assassin’s Creed Origins takes place; the supposed era in question is 49 BCE.
If this is the case could we see Julius Caesar and Rome play a factor in the new story or will we see the great Cleopatra in all of her beauty? Assassin’s Creed Origins should release sometime in Fall 2017 or before March 2018; it has been three years since the last unique installment to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but Origins might be the game that Assassin’s Creed fans have been waiting for. Hopefully, Ubisoft will release a trailer for the upcoming title before E3 2017 similar to Far Cry 5 that is scheduled to be released on February 27th.
