Today, in an interview with Brazilian Newspaper O Globo, Niantic’s VP of Strategic Development Matheiu de Fayet confirmed that the worldwide phenomenon Pokémon GO will finally be getting Legendary Pokémon and PvP in the coming months.
His direct quote, translated by a user on Reddit, is as follows; “Because of the huge success, we had to delay some planned news. Now, we are working in announcing new updates for this summer (North hemisphere), like giving more value to the choice of teams, launching Legendary Pokémon and battles between the players. One thing which we learned with “Ingress” is that the game sustains itself if we are capable to create social interactions between the trainers, and we are working on that.”
Now, obviously things can get delayed and a multitude of problems can arise, but it’s reassuring to hear that they are focused on rolling out features that players have been asking for since Pokémon GO was first announced.
Are you excited for these new features? Are you one of the 65+ million players who is still active in Pokémon GO, according to Niantic? What else are you hoping for in Pokémon GO? Let us know!
