Nintendo has just announced that the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition will be hitting store shelves on September 29th for $79.99. The SNES Classic will include 21 titles, many of which are considered true masterpieces. Potentially most exciting is the fact the Star Fox 2 will be included, a game that was never released. The other games included are as follows;
- Contra III: The Alien Wars™
- Donkey Kong Country™
- EarthBound™
- Final Fantasy III
- F-ZERO™
- Kirby™ Super Star
- Kirby’s Dream Course™
- The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™
- Mega Man® X
- Secret of Mana
- Star Fox™
- Star Fox™ 2
- Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Castlevania IV™
- Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts®
- Super Mario Kart™
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars™
- Super Mario World™
- Super Metroid™
- Super Punch-Out!! ™
- Yoshi’s Island™
With each SNES Mini, you will receive one HDMI cord, one USB charging cable with AC Adapter, and two wired Super NES Classic Controllers. Like the NES Classic, these titles will be pre-installed and will run and look great on HD televisions, without a need for old CRT television sets.
No retailer or pre-order information has been given yet, but let’s hope that Nintendo has better plans to launch this console as opposed to the NES Classic.
