Since the unofficial reveal of Call of Duty WW2, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have strategically planned the reveal of all new information related to their upcoming title. For the last month, the zombies’ community has wondered when Sledgehammer Games would reveal their reimagined zombies’ mode. Earlier this month, an image of a zombie wearing a helmet with the date July 20th was posted to Call of Duty’s Twitter with the message “They’re coming. Prepare for the world reveal of @SHGames’ twisted new vision of Call of Duty zombies at @Comic_Con. #WWIIZombies #SDCC.” Although Comic Con is less than a week away, the world reveal trailer for Call of Duty WW2 Zombies has been supposedly leaked.
Before this trailer’s unofficial reveal not much was known about the new game mode. During an interview last month, Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey stated that the new game mode would feature a back story based on real events and that it will have a stronger focus on survival horror elements. Since the reveal of Call of Duty: WW2, we have seen Sledgehammer Games attempt to make their re-envisioning of World War 2 as authentic as possible. How will this authenticity factor play into a game mode that Treyarch has made a selling point over the last ten years?
Early yesterday afternoon, Gleen Schofield took to twitter to confirm the authenticity of the leaked zombies’ trailer and urged gamers to hold off on watching the leaked version and to just wait until the official reveal at SDCC. At the moment two characters and their voice actors have been officially announced for the new game mode. World renowned actor and the 10th Doctor, David Tennant will take the role of Drostan Hynd. Accompanying the British sensation is the lovely and talented Elodie Yung best known for her role as Elektra Natchios in Daredevil and Miriam Wu in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Elodie Yung will voice Olivia Durant. Not much is known about either of these characters but with two veteran actors on board, the new game mode looks to already be heading in the right direction.
The leaked trailer for the upcoming zombies’ mode has since been removed from Youtube, but those who cannot wait can view a mirrored version HERE while it remains. Call of Duty: WW2 is scheduled to be released on November 3, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Look for more information regarding the upcoming game mode at San Diego Comic Con later this week.
