With Gamescom in Cologne, Germany set to kick off next week, Microsoft will be streaming throughout the show, giving glimpses at what is to come for its Xbox family of consoles and PC, with rumors of the possibility of preorders opening for the Xbox One X looming.
On Sunday, Aug. 20, at 9:00pm CEST / 8:00pm BST / 12:00pm PDT, the Xbox @ Gamescom Live event will kick off, as the company shares news about much anticipated Windows 10 and Xbox games, as well as world premiere trailers. The event will be streamed on Xbox’s Mixer Channel, so fans can see the announcements for themselves.
Monday, the 21st, Microsoft will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Age of Empires franchise with a special livestream event at 9:00pm CEST / 12:00pm PDT. While talking with some of the game’s developers and celebrating with fans of the PC series, they will also be showing a first-look at the upcoming Age of Empire: Definitive Edition, a remastered edition of the classic strategy game. The event will be streamed on the Age of Empires Mixer Channel.
Attendees of Gamescom will also be able to drop by the Xbox booth during the show, Aug. 22-26. Gamers will be able to get their hands on the Xbox One X, as well as try out a collection of games that will be making their way to Xbox over the next 12 months.
Speaking of the Xbox One X, in reply to a fan’s question yesterday, about preorder news being revealed at Gamescom, Phil Spencer replied via twitter that “We’ll share more info on this tomorrow.” The Xbox twitter account posted a few hours ago, that preorder info will be coming soon, with a note to tune in on Aug. 20th during its Gamescom stream for details.
