Just a couple weeks after the Ketchup vs. Mayo Splatfest in Splatoon 2 that crowned Mayo as the champ, Nintendo has announced which sides will be fighting when the newest Splatfest takes place on September 1st & 2nd. Whereas the last event was centered around condiments, this is all about super powers, namely Flight and Invincibility. Have you always dreamed of flying through the clouds? How about disappearing and having freedom to go anywhere with no consequences? The choice is yours.
If you choose to go with Flight you will be fighting with Blue ink, and Invincibility will be equipped with Green ink. Once the Splatfest begins, you will fight alongside your teammates in Turf War battles and prove which ability truly is the most powerful. Also, according to Nintendo, additional details about this Splatfest will be announced as we get closer to the event, so it would be interesting to see if there are any special gameplay changes for this battle.
In the same press release, Nintendo also announced that there have been over 400 million online battles fought across the world and that after less than a month, Splatoon 2 has joined the million-selling Nintendo Switch Title club. Lastly, a Walmart exclusive Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 Edition Bundle was announced and will include a download code for the game, a Switch, and Neon Green and Neon Pink Joy-Cons.
