No Game, No Life Zero Heading to North American Theaters, Premieres this September

Following its debut in Japan last month, anime publisher Sentai Filmworks announced earlier today, that the prequel anime film, No Game, No Life Zero, would be making a theatrical debut in North America next month.

The animated film debuted in Japan on July 15, 2017; it takes place six-thousand years before Shiro and Sora make their name in Disboard. In the story, war tears apart the land, as a young man named Riku leads humanity towards a future that his heart believes in. In the ruins of an Elf city, Riku meats a female exiled “ex-machina” android, named Shuvi, who asks the young man to teach her what it means to have a human heart.

Anime fans can expect to see the film make its premiere stateside on Sept. 15, 2017, in Los Angeles, during the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival. Azoland Pictures will be handling the theatrical distribution of No Game, No Life Zero, with news of premiere event and national screening tickets to be revealed at a later date.

The anime series is available in North America from Sentai Filmworks, while Yuu Kamiya’s No Game, No Life light novels and spin-off manga, No Game, No Life, Please!, are available from Yen Press.
