Section23 Films Announces December 2017 Release Slate

Distributor Section23 Films today announced its planned release slate for the month of December 2017, which includes releases from anime publisher Sentai Filmworks as well as Kraken Releasing.

The first half of December looks to be the busiest of the month, as Sentai Filmworks releases three titles in the first week, a Clannad/Clannad After Story complete collection on Blu-ray ($149.98), the complete collection of Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East on Blu-ray ($99.98) and the Initial D Legend 1: Awakening feature film in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack ($39.98), all on the 5th. The following week, on the 12th, Sentai Filmworks releases the Chaika the Coffin Princess complete series on Blu-ray ($99.98) and the When They Cry complete collection on Blu-ray ($129.98), while Kraken Releasing sets loose the second Garo TV collection on Blu-ray ($39.98). Garo and When They Cry will be released with Japanese audio and English subtitles, while the rest of the releases will include options for either English and Japanese audio and English subtitles.

The releases should be done before Christmas, as Sentai Filmworks ships its final three titles for the month on the 19th, the Cross Ange: Rondo of Dragons complete series on Blu-ray ($99.98), the complete series of Familiar of Zero on Blu-ray ($129.98) and the To Love Ru complete series on Blu-ray ($129.98). Cross Ange will include English and Japanese audio with English subtitles, while Familiar of Zero and To Love Ru will be in Japanese with English subtitles only.

December looks to be a month for fans to get full versions of some popular series all at once, with so many collected series being released on Blu-ray. The only “new” releases appear to be Garo and Initial D, though it will be nice to revisit Initial D once again in this new set of anime films.

It will likely be an avalanche of these collections, that will be his end.
