Earlier today, Rockstar Games announced that new versions of the blockbuster hit detective thriller L.A. Noire, are scheduled to release on November 14, 2017, or Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Alongside these three new console versions, Rockstar will be releasing a virtual reality version of L.A. Noire called L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files which will feature seven select cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for a virtual reality experience on the HTC VIVE.
What is this game you ask if you’re new to the name? L.A. Noire takes place in Los Angeles, the City of Angles, where violent and mysterious crimes have started to occur throughout the revitalized city. Set in the 1940’s, L.A. Noire is the story of a decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps, as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each case Phelps successfully solves brings greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.
Another cool fact about this game is that L.A. Noire was selected as part of the Tribeca Film Festival for its cinematic approach to gameplay and narrative. The hit game utilized a unique type of facial capture technology called MotionScan, that gave realistic performances and made the art of interrogation more interesting and important to solving each case in L.A. Noire. So what is there to expect on all the versions of the game? Well Rockstar Games has that set out for you and we’ve provided those details below.
