Seven Seas Unveils a Week’s Worth of New Acquisitions

Seven Seas new acquisitions

Last week was very busy for manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment, as the publisher unveiled a number of new titles throughout the week, finishing out with four announcements on Friday.

The first of the new announcements was for the digital and physical rights to CHIROLU and Hota’s If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord, a manga adaptation of the light novel series. The series follows a famed adventurer named Dale, who comes across a young devil girl, wasting away. Dale takes her in, and fully embraces his life as her adoptive father, but what reason could there be for the girl to be alone in the forest to begin with and why does she have the mark of a criminal? The series will be released as single volume editions, with the first ($12.99) slated for May 1, 2018.

The second Friday manga announcement was the yuri series, Hungry for You: Endo Yasuko Stalks the Night by Flowerchild; which follows Shizue, a high school girl who witnesses an attack on a classmate at the hands of another student, Endo Yasuko. The beautiful Endo declares that Shizue is the only one that can sate her hunger, but what exactly does she really mean? Seven Seas will be publishing the series as single volume editions, with the first ($12.99) dated for May 15, 2018.

Seven Seas Entertainment’s third announcement was Himouto! Umaru-chan (print and digital), Sankaku Head’s manga series that inspired a hit anime series. The series follows Umaru Doma, a seemingly perfect high school student, loved and respected by many. That is how she is seen in public at least, because once she gets home to her older brother Taihei, she turns in to the ultimate bratty little sister. Gaming, eating junk food and wearing her hamster hoodie all day, Umaru exhausts her big brother, but they find a way to make it work in hilarious fashion.

Fans of the anime can expect to see the manga available in single volume editions, with the first ($12.99) set for release on May 22, 2018. This was one bit of news that should make plenty of fans happy, especially with the new season set to debut soon. The anime is currently available in North America from Sentai Filmworks.

The final new announcement (print and digital) for the week, is the boys’ love manga from Syundei, Go for It, Nakamura! The series follows Nakamura, a shy boy that falls for Hirose, his dreamy high school classmate. It is love at first sight for Nakamura, but there is one problem, the two haven’t even met and the bumbling Nakamura could bungle things before they do. The series will be available in single volume editions, with the first ($12.99) due out on July 3, 2018.
