Those who were holding off on playing Destiny 2 until the launch of the PC version don’t have much longer to wait, as Guardians will finally be able to jump in on October 24th at 10am PT via The Blizzard Battle.net app. In celebration of the Destiny franchise arriving on PC, Activision has released the launch trailer that will hopefully make the wait just a little bit easier.
While Destiny 2 on PC will have everything its console counterparts have, there will be some significant benefits to playing it on a PC, if your rig can handle it. Destiny 2 on PC will support 4K resolution support (3840×2160), uncapped framerate, full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping, text chat, adjustable Field of View, detailed PC settings screen, 21:9 and triple monitor support, and HDR.
The PC port of Destiny 2 is being worked on by Vicarious Visions, who have been responsible for a ton of great titles, such as certain versions of the Skylanders franchise, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Doom 3 for the Xbox, and many more. Vicarious Visions was acquired by Activision in January of 2005 and in 2016 they announced they would be partnering with Bungie to work on the Destiny franchise.
PC players of Destiny 2 will have a lot to look forward to as Destiny 2 has been constantly updated with new modes and maps. While they will unfortunately miss the most current iteration of Iron Banner which ended last night, they will be able to take on the Prestige Raid which launches tomorrow, October 18th, at 1pm ET/10am PT, and everything else PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners have enjoyed since Destiny 2 launched on September 6th.
