Retro City Rampage is an open world action-adventure title that is a parody of retro games and ’80s and ’90s pop culture. It plays very similar to the pre-Grand Theft Auto 3 titles and was originally released on October 9th, 2012 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PC. Since then, it has made its way to many more platforms and most recently released on the Nintendo Switch on August 3rd, 2017.
In Retro City Rampage, you assume the role of “The Player” in the city of Theftropolis in 1985. You are hired by a major crime syndicate led by a “The Jester”. After a few years, The Player takes part in a failed bank heist, though he does run into a time-traveling telephone booth, which starts his adventure and it’s worth checking out.
