We all love to get a huge plate of nostalgia when it comes to many forms of entertainment. There’s something so comforting about playing an older game from when we were younger. When Microsoft originally started backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games, it was met with much excitement and a smart business strategy as many older 360 games were still being purchased. With so many games that are now backwards compatible, many players have begun to ask for games from the original Xbox be added to the list. Xbox’s Phil Spencer had let fans know they are working hard to get these classic games into players’ hands.
A leaked screenshot was found on Twitter showing the potential first wave of backwards compatible Xbox games. As with the Xbox 360 games, more Xbox games compatible titles will be released over time.
The games displayed in the screenshot are as follows.
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Ninja Gaiden: Black
- Red Faction II
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
- Grabbed by the Ghoulies
- Psychonauts
- Dead to Rights
- Crimson Skies
- Fuzion Frenzy
- Sid Meier’s Pirates!
- BloodRayne 2
- The King of Fighters: NeoWave
I for one am extremely excited for Ninja Gaiden Black and Prince of Persia. While we aren’t sure exactly when these backwards compatible games will be available, there are multiple rumors to suggest the first wave will be out on November 7th.
