The Sega Dreamcast, although it was a flop, did have so many bright moments. Say what you want, but that is where Sonic games truly shined in my opinion. Yes, they are dated and at times ridiculous, but Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 are both classics in my book. Part of this is because of how wonderful the music was; whether it was from the opening hooks of Open Your Heart, to the greatest opening level of any game in that generation: Escape From The City, the soundtracks kept you hooked. Why it took this long, I do not know, but Brace Wave has announced that both Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 are getting Vinyl editions!
If you buy the first pressings, you will get special vinyl colors that “represent the essence of both games.” Matching the color scheme for 1, purchasers will get blue and white 180-gram vinyls. Even more special, first pressings of Sonic Adventure 2 will be blue and red, matching the “good and evil” and “Sonic and Shadow” themes. After the initial pressings, all albums will be standard black on 180-gram vinyls. Included with both collections will be booklets that contain interviews with Jun Senoue, composer of Sonic Adventure, and head of Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka.
Release date and prices have not been announced quite yet, but we will keep you updated when Brace Wave announces more information. At this time, it is only known that they are coming this Winter.
