Chrono Trigger Now Available on PC

Surprise time travelers, I’m here with a special announcement. Chrono Trigger is finally out on PC. One of the most beloved RPGs of all time is finally getting introduced to a new audience. PC Master Race rejoice it is finally your turn to travel through time with Crono and his cohorts. Find yourself exploring a beautiful world and getting lost in soundtrack that I still have stuck in my head to this day. Anything I say here will feel like a spoiler, so take my advice and just go play it. If you already own Chrono Trigger, play it again!

PC players will experience an updated and optimized experience. Graphics have been optimized for for modern PCs while keeping the atmosphere of the original release, the soundtrack was re-recorded under the supervision of the original composer Yasunori Mitsuda, and players will be able to choose their preference of controller or mouse and keyboard configuration. As a bonus, there is a new auto save feature while maintaining the original’s save point function. This version will also include two extra dungeons. These will be the “Dimensional Vortex” and “Lost Sanctum” dungeons that appeared on the Nintendo DS and mobile releases.

There is a limited edition of Chrono Trigger available on Steam until April 2, 2018. Included in the limited edition is:

• An enchanting and specially edited digital song file containing a medley of five songs: “Far Off Promise,” “Wind Scene,” “Battle with Magus,” “Corridors of Time,” and “Chrono Trigger”
• Composer Yasunori Mitsuda’s digital liner notes
• A collection of six stunning PC wallpapers in varying sizes

I will note that this is a port of the mobile version of Chrono Trigger. With this port, these mobile editions on iOS and Android may also be getting a major update matching the enhancements of the PC release version.
