Ubisoft has released details of the Season Pass for Far Cry 5, and it’s looking to be a very good deal. The pass will contain three additional adventure episodes, plus a full bonus game.

Four weeks before it launches as a standalone purchase, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Far Cry 5 Season Pass owners will receive copies of Far Cry 3 Classic Edition. Originally released in 2012 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Far Cry 3 Classic Edition brings the game to PS4 and Xbox One for the first time. No word yet on whether the game has been remastered or upgraded in any way for this new edition. It is worth keeping in mind, however, that Far Cry 3 run at max details was pretty taxing for PCs of the time, so very little upgrading may be necessary for current-gen consoles. Just crank the detail levels to the max in the engine and go. PC gamers who purchase either the Season Pass or Far Cry 5 Gold Edition will receive a full copy of Far Cry 3.

The three standalone adventures that will be available with the Season Pass appear to feature some rather interesting environments that depart rather heavily from the basic game’s “Montana Doomsday Cult Battle” plot. From the initial descriptions, these episodes have more in common with the Blood Dragon standalone. In the first, called “Hours of Darkness”, players travel back in time to Vietnam to battle against Viet Cong soldiers.

The second, entitled “Dead Living Zombies” will see players taking on hordes of zombies across multiple B-movie scenarios. Finally, “Lost on Mars” sends players to the Red Planet to go toe-to-claw against Martian arachnids. (Giant spiders. On Mars. Hope no one has crippling arachnophobia. Ed.)

In further news, Ubisoft promised that the Map Editor will be returning. However, no further details beyond that promise have yet been given. Far Cry 5 is scheduled for release on March 27th, 2018 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The Season Pass will be available as either a separate purchase or bundled with the Gold Edition of the game.
