Ubisoft today announced Inside Eden’s Gate, a short film series set in the universe of Far Cry 5, which delves deeper into the backstory of The Project at Eden’s Gate, and its ruthless leader Joseph Seed. Produced by Asylum Entertainment, and streaming exclusively on Amazon via Prime Video Direct (formerly Amazon Video Direct), the first episode will premiere on March 5th.

Inside Eden’s Gate follows the stories of three vloggers lured to Hope County, Montana by rumors of a fanatical cult and its charismatic but insane leader, Joseph Seed. As the vloggers explore the mysterious disappearances and other strange events in the county, they come face-to-face with both the cult and its leader.

“At Ubisoft, we always strive to build worlds and narratives that actively engage our consumers both in and outside of our core gaming experiences,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of marketing and consumer experience, Ubisoft. “Our partnership with Asylum Entertainment provided a unique opportunity for the team to work with top-tier acting talent in Greg Bryk that bridges the consumers’ experience from the short film to the game.”Far Cry 5 Co-op Hunting

On the same day, Ubisoft UK also released a two and a half minute long video called “The Baptism” which is region locked to European markets, which promotes a bit of the tangled relationship between Joseph Seed and his mentor, Pastor Jerome. A live-action trailer using the same actors as in the Inside Eden’s Gate trailer, it seems likely that this footage will end up being seen as part of the Inside Eden’s Gate show. While the trailer is region locked, it’s already been re-uploaded by a number of other Youtube users, and isn’t difficult to find.

In the run-up to Far Cry 5‘s March 27th release, Ubisoft has previously released character vignette details of some of the in-game companions, and information about the Season Pass and various game editions that are available for pre-order. The game will launch for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and PC.
