I’m sure many gamers were excited who were planning to praise the sun while on the go since Dark Souls was being remastered for the Nintendo Switch. However, it appears they will need to wait a little longer than expected. The remaster of the cult classic was originally slated for a May 25 release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Switch. The PC, Xbox and PS4 releases dates are unchanged, but the Switch port has been delayed to summer 2018, with no official date at this time. This delay also includes the The Solaire of Astora Amiibo.
A recent Tweet went up this morning from the Dark Souls page announcing the delay. “Due to the nature of causality, we must announce that the Nintendo Switch version of #DarkSoulsRemastered will be pushed back to summer of 2018″
Due to the nature of causality, we must announce that the Nintendo Switch version of #DarkSoulsRemastered will be pushed back to summer of 2018, and with it, the release of the Solaire of Astora amiibo.
PC/PS4/X1 versions will maintain their May 25th release date.

It’s not entirely clear as to why the Switch edition needs more time, but I’m sure developer Virtuos has their reasons. The Switch Edition is promising a crisp 1080p resolution with 30 FPS. The other versions for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 are supposed to be scaled up to 4K, and the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro getting 60 FPS.
