E3 2018 Press Conference Schedule Released

E3 2018 Press Conference Schedule Released

It is now May, which means the hype for E3 usually becomes relentless until June. Speculation goes through the roof. Theories are abundant. It’s a good time to be a gamer! We can get even more excited now that the press conference schedule has been released, which looks to be kicked off with EA on June 9.

It’s quite interesting that EA is kicking off E3. Of course EA always attends the event, but I’m curious to see what’s going to happen considering 2017 was quite a rough year for the EA. Mass Effect: Andromeda was a disappointment, and let’s not forget the disaster that was Battlefront 2, quite possible the biggest gaming controversy of 2017. Hopefully EA is looking to fix this issues with some big announcements. The biggest games that we all know are gonna be showcased include Anthem, Battlefield 5, and of course the annual EA Sports titles such as Madden and FIFA.

Bethesda’s conference will be the following day in the evening, and Bethesda’s is probably the most mysterious of all this year. We’re not entirely sure what exactly we will see this year, but Global Marketing Executive, Pete Hines, has stated on Twitter that this could be their longest press conference to date. Rumors have been speculating that RAGE 2 will be announced at the show. There have been odd marketing ads from Bethesda showing pink paint splattered across images, which many are theorizing that it has to do with RAGE 2. The next big game that everyone is hoping to see is Elder Scrolls VI, but let’s not hold our breath for that one.

Another title that’s on gamer’s minds is Borderlands 3. Gearbox has confirmed that they are attending of the event. It’s highly unlikely that they would show something else instead of Borderlands 3. The release of Battleborn definitely hurt for the developer, so they almost have no choice but to give fans Borderlands 3 as well know it’s happening, but just hasn’t been announced yet.

I’d say the biggest question that’s on everyone’s mind is which conference will showcase CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, which is definitely the most anticipated game for E3. We’re not entirely sure who will get the honors of presenting the game. Past demos of Witcher 3 were shown at Microsoft’s press conferences, so maybe there is still a deal in place. It would certainly give Microsoft an edge this year since just recently a report from EA’s Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen stated that Sony sold almost double the amount of Playstation 4s compared to Xbox One consoles. Showing a demo of Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox One X would be extremely beneficial for the console.
