In anticipation of the Fall release of “Valkyria Chronicles 4,” SEGA has released a new trailer, introducing your new squad mates! Tempting us further, SEGA has also made the game’s premium edition “Memoirs from Battle” available for preorder!
The Story
This new “Valkyria’s” story occurs around the same time as the original game, yet has a new suite of characters. This time, you will brave the East Europan Imperial Alliance borders, where blizzards and bullets may take an equal toll on you and your soldiers. Follow Commander Claude Wallace and engineering wiz Riley Miller as they lead Squad E while facing the trauma and horror that war brings. We can only hope that they and the rest of the squad members help each other cling to their lives and sanity.
The Swag
Within the premium pack “Memoirs from Battle,” purchasers can expect extra content that will plunge the player into this world.
The pack includes a vinyl statue of the “Hafen” tank. Named after Claude’s hometown, this tank is reported to hold special significance to all of Squad E. For you collectors out there, this might be well worth the buy-in itself!
Alongside the “Hafen” comes a 100-page art book! “Claude’s Travel Journal” contains photographs, notes, and other memorabilia inspired by his in-game journal. There are even reports of original watercolor-styled art waiting to mesmerize readers. These paintings are part of the inspiration for this new game’s overhaul on the hand-drawn art style!
To sweeten the deal, the “Memoirs from Battle Edition” includes two DLC codes which will reunite you with some familiar faces. “A United Front with Squad 7” and “Edy’s Advance Ops” take us back to the soldiers of the original “Valkyria Chronicles’” Squad 7. These DLCs promise over 3 hours of gameplay in 4 story missions, replete with fully-voiced cutscenes, challenges that you might not find in the main game, and brilliant rewards! For example: Upon completion, the player will earn Edy’s personal submachine gun for use in the main game, along with the six Squad 7 members contained in this DLC.
