Bandai Namco Announces Jump Force E3 2018

For years, Xbox fans have had to quietly sulk when a new anime-related video game was announced due to Bandai Namco’s “partnership” with Sony Entertainment and Nintendo. Within the last twenty years, only a few Anime franchises have come to the Xbox, Xbox 360, or Xbox One such as: Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto, Gundam, and Yugioh. With just barely over a handful, may anime fans have wondered when they would have the opportunity to play a more diverse assortment of Anime titles and could only dream of a game where different anime characters would have the opportunity to fight with and against one another, excluding J-Star Victory VS. Well now, Anime fans will have that option thanks to Bandai Namco announcing Jump Force.

Durning Microsoft’s E3 2018 Press Conference, the world was shocked when the Hokage Mountain faces, the Going Merry, and Frieza’s Space Ship was shown on the screen. The Narrator reveals to the audience that at one point the worlds were divided and that miraculous things could occur either good or evil. Now, due to some unforeseen force, these iconic realms have collided to merge as one on Earth.  Players will have the opportunity to play as Luffy, Goku, Naruto and many other popular Anime / Manga characters to take down evil forces threatening the earth. At the end of the trailer, players get a brief teaser that Light Yagami and Ryuk will play some part in Jump force, but it is uncertain if they will stand with the side of good or help the villains to create a new world order.

Bandai Namco has revealed that players will have the opportunity to select their three-person team to fight the forces of evil in famous landmarks such as New York City’s Times Square and the Matterhorn in the Alps. Jump Force is currently announced for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam and is supposed to release sometime in 2019.

“With JUMP FORCE, we are thrilled to bring to life Shueisha’s deep catalogue of beloved franchises that has produced some of the most popular pop culture characters to ever come from Japan,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “JUMP FORCE gives fans of manga and anime a dream opportunity to see their favorite heroes come to life in our world in a globetrotting adventure filled with explosive battles of epic proportions.”
