Sony has just announced the release date of their upcoming exclusive from Bend Studios, Days Gone. Earlier this year, Sony had let players know that the open-world zombie game was getting delayed to 2019 after it was initially slated for a late 2018 release. Sony took to Twitter today with a new Countdown to E3 reveal, which shows a brand new trailer as well as it’s release date: February 22, 2019.
Lots of gameplay has been shown recently for Days Gone’s open world and combat. The brand new trailer shows off some new threats players will need deal with, such as infected wolves, mountain lions and cougars. We also get some haunting imagery of an enemy faction: Rest In Peace, or R.I.P.
In Sony’s recent blog, they make it known that R.I.P. worships the Freakers (the game’s zombies for those who did not know). They state how when taking down a R.I.P. camp, players should unleash Freakers into the camp as the cult chooses to not harm, which could lead to some entertaining moments. We also get to see some new characters in the trailer such as the arms dealer Alkai Turner, and camp leader Ada Tucker.
More Days Gone gameplay and details are promised to be shown at E3. Sony’s press conference is scheduled for Monday, June 11 at 6 p.m. PT. Days Gone will be released on February 22, 2019.
