Destiny 2 Forsaken Expansion Revealed

Yesterday afternoon Bungie,  High Moon Studios, and Activision revealed the next major expansion to Destiny 2. The Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion will feature an all-new hybrid mode called Gambit that will debut at E3. The Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion will release worldwide on September 4, 2018. Destiny 2 Forsaken will be available to download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, through the Battle.net client.

The Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion will feature two brand-new destinations to discover. Guardians will have the opportunity to acquire new weapons and armor while experimenting with new Supers. According to Bungie, the Forsaken expansion will take players on a wild journey across the solar system while Guardians discover the difference between justice and revenge. Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion will feature an all-new competitive and collaborative endgame activity, called Gambit. The all-new game mode called Gambit is a 4v4 mode that merges both PvE and PvP elements for players to experience in an epic battle. The new game mode will blend certain elements of PvP and PvE to give players who enjoy a competitive challenge a thrill. E3 quests will that the opportunity to play the new Gambit game mode at the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) held between June 12-14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“Since the launch of the Destiny franchise, we have always strived to create innovative experiences that will challenge and reward different kinds of players and ensure their beloved pastime is rewarding,” said Scott Taylor, Project Lead at Bungie. He added, “We can’t wait to share Forsaken’s new Gambit mode with our fans and offer them a new way to play that can be enjoyed competitively and cooperatively.”

“With an absorbing new story, created by High Moon Studios in partnership with Bungie, Destiny 2: Forsaken offers core players an epic experience, and offers a compelling entry point for new players,” Byron Beede, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Destiny at Activision. “I’m looking forward to watching players get their hands on some of the most requested features requested by the dedicated Destiny 2 community.”

While the Guardians were busy retaking the tower, the reef fell into a lawless zone. Guardians will be tasked with discovering where the unrest stems from while exploring new regions, awaken new Forsaken powers, and discovering powerful weapons. One exotic weapon appears to be a long bow that may have the possibility to one shit enemies. The Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion will feature a new territory called the Dreaming City, full of secrets for Guardians to discover and bosses to slay. Players will be able to find the new raid on The Dreaming City, the first space designed from the ground up to support endgame content. The Forsaken DLC will feature new changes and features such as,  “a new weapon slot system, Random Rolls, improvements to the mods system, and numerous other quality-of-life improvements.”

The Destiny 2 Forsaken Expansion will retail at $39.99. Gamers will have the option to purchase the Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion + Annual Pass Bundle for $69.99 or the Digital Deluxe Edition featuring premium digital content for $79.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.  At launch, PlayStation gamers will get first access to timed exclusive content; the exclusive content will feature a strike, one gear set per class, a new ship and an exotic weapon. Upon the release of Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion, all launch timed exclusives will be available to all guardians on all platforms.
