E3 2018: Ori and the Will of the Wisps Gameplay Shown Off

"Ori and the Will of the Wisps," Moon Studios, Xbox Briefing Announcement- Main Art

When things got fully started at the Xbox Briefing today, they brought in the sequel to “Ori and the Blind Forest!” The same, gorgeous graphics and mixture of cheerful and ominous scenes are back and hopefully better than ever! Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” (Xbox One and Windows 10) until 2019.

Moon Studios promises that the game has maintained the same visual and musical style that we fell in love with in the last game! This time around, though, they’ve revamped the combat system! There are dozens of new spirit weapons, spells, and skills to toy with as you blast through your enemies and face down daunting bosses. There is also a new “shard system” which you can use to upgrade Ori’s abilities!

You can discover allies along the way, fight bosses the size of Big Ben, and bend your mind over puzzles! Let’s hope that the story in this new installment lives up to its predecessor’s! We are all looking forward to adventuring in this beautiful, immersive world and learning more about Ori themselves! Besides, some of these pictures are just adorable!

Enjoy the nostalgia kick when this beauty comes out!

An English and Western Laws & Ethics graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Matt’s doing his best to find his way back to Middle Earth or Naboo. However, the closest he can get is reading, writing, or gaming, so he’s trying to accept his lack of pet dragons and devoting himself to those things instead. In his spare time, he practices traditional Chinese Ken-Po in the hopes that he will someday become an Earth Bender.
