Looking at groups like Supergiant Games, you will find that indie studios sometimes have the best soundtracks in the industry. “Fossil Hunters” has kept that trend and now their soundtrack is ready for you! Composed by Robby Duguay, this musical medley combines a live orchestra with piano and percussion soloists to make a quirky, entertaining collection! To make it better, you can find this soundtrack on iTunes and pretty much anywhere else digital music is sold!
What to Expect:
If you have played the game already, you may enjoy the “Fossil Hunters Main Theme.” Its proud horns and references to other musical themes that appear throughout the game might entertain you. In that way, the song is reminiscent of an overture at a live performance! Pair that with the sounds Duguay created with coffee stir-stick mallets and a custom pop-bottle instrument and this soundtrack ought to provide plenty of variety. Furthermore, each theme has also been rendered into a piano piece, played by Trevor Alan Gomes. You might have noticed these when pausing the game!
“I play brass instruments, so even before we got the Budapest Scoring Symphonic Orchestra involved I was going to perform all the parts myself. The last piece of the puzzle was to reinforce the percussive nature of the digging and sweeping of the gameplay, so I used a lot of percussion in the score.” — Robby Duguay, Composer
