Funcom has finally revealed its first gameplay trailer for “Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden!” Simultaneously, they have also announced the game’s price(s) and what extra goodies you will get if you preorder the game! The game itself will release some time in the second half of 2018.

In case you missed it, here’s the CGI reveal trailer that they released a few months back:

This cinematic trailer has caused quite a few raised eyebrows. Who ever heard of a humanoid duck and boar duo in a post-apocalyptic world? Was this game supposed to be funny? Dark? What? Well, the answer seems to be all of the above. This is a turn-based, tactical adventure game with stealth elements and, allegedly, one heck of a story to back it.

Funcom and the developers at The Bearded Ladies have been showered with awards at E3 for this game, just as much as they were criticized. Looking at the game, it seemed like a gamble, but that seems to have paid off! Check out this shiny new gameplay trailer if you don’t believe me!

“Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is our passion project… We truly believe the unique mix of turn-based tactical combat combined with freeform exploration, stealth, and story will offer something new and different gamers have never experienced before.” — Haraldur Thormundsson, The Bearded Ladies CEO

An English and Western Laws & Ethics graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Matt’s doing his best to find his way back to Middle Earth or Naboo. However, the closest he can get is reading, writing, or gaming, so he’s trying to accept his lack of pet dragons and devoting himself to those things instead. In his spare time, he practices traditional Chinese Ken-Po in the hopes that he will someday become an Earth Bender.
