We’re getting some new information about the upcoming open world action investigation game The Sinking City today, as a new gameplay trailer hits the internet. The trailer showcases elements about main character Charles W. Reed’s mental state, his interactions around the city of Oakmont, and the game’s unsettling Lovecraftian atmosphere

Charles W. Reed is a private investigator in New England in the 1920s. Tortured by both his past and by otherworldly visions, he finds himself in Oakmont, Massachusetts, seeking salvation from the creeping insanity that afflicts him. The city of Oakmont was once a trade harbor known for its lucrative smuggling business, but now it survives in quiet isolation from the rest of the world. In this place of decay and superstition, players will have to deal with the dregs of mankind, follow clues they will wish they had never uncovered, and unveil a cosmic horror that threatens the world itself.

Originally established in 2000, they have become known for their wide-ranging portfolio of games, ranging from RTS to action-adventure. They are best known for creating the critically acclaimed Sherlock Holmes games. The Sinking City is their latest new IP.
