Get ready, Midwestern fans of tank duels, massive explosions, and armored mayhem. Wargaming and Wargaming West is planning a massive fan event for World of Tanks: Mercenaries on September 15th, 2018 in Chicago’s Cantigny Park.
For this event, the spotlight will be on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One based World of Tanks: Mercenaries. Gaming stations will be set up around Cantigny Park for fans to jump into one of over 690 armored vehicles, representing ten different nations, and fight each other on Mercenaries‘ digital battleground. Wargaming West, the Chicago-based developers behind World of Tanks: Mercenaries, will also be hosting some special presentations during the event. Attendees can look forward to a look inside the development process, chat with developers, and maybe get a sneak peak at the future of Mercenaries.
Event attendees will also get the chance to get their hands on some great Mercenaries swag. Raffles, giveaways, and in-game contests will run throughout the day to give people the chance to win an assortment of game codes and merchandise. In addition, Wargaming has partnered with the First Division Museum to provide attendees the opportunity for private tours of the museum. For armor enthusiasts, this is a great chance to go up close and personal with an M41A3 Walker Bulldog, M46 Patton, T26E4 Pershing, and a variety of other vehicles and weapons.
Wargaming promises that the day will include a number of family fun activities, including races, tank-themed sporting events, an obstacle course, a tank building and coloring station for children, and an area where you can decorate a cardboard tank. Obviously these activities are weather dependent, so here’s hoping for clear skies.
