New Black Ops 4 Blood of the Dead Trailer

New Black Ops 4 Blood of the Dead Trailer

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is under forty-eight hours away from launch. On October 10th, Activision and Treyarch made multiple announcements regarding their upcoming AAA Call of Duty title. 2018 marks the ten-year anniversary of Call of Duty Zombies and Treyarch looks to pull out all the stops, granting players three zombie maps upon the release of Call of Duty Black Ops 4. With Black Ops 4 less than two days away it is shocking that Treyarch would make such major announcements before release.

In celebration and preparation for Black Ops 4, Treyarch and Activision released a new in-game cinematic trailer for Blood of the Dead zombies map. Blood of the Dead is a reimagining of the fan-favorite map Mob of the Dead. Blood of the Dead just like its counterpart Mob of the Dead takes place on the iconic penitentiary island of Alcatraz. As previously stated, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will launch with three full Zombies maps but Black Ops Season Pass holders will get a fourth map titled Classified upon the game’s release.

The trailer features the Mob of the Dead Easter Egg song “Where Are We Going”, that gives the Blood of the Dead trailer an ominous dark tone alongside its eery aesthetics. Although the trailer confirms that a majority of Mob of the Dead’s gameplay elements are depicted in the trailer, a few elements are left out leading the community to question, what has happened to the golden spoon of doom or the Hell’s Retriever. Mob of the Dead fans can look forward to slaughtering The Warden, sliding between the body bags in the Laundry Mat, using the fans to dice up the undead, blasting through zombies with the Blunderbuss, and riding the Gondola. The original Origin crew will also have to deal with the Hellhounds and the Dogs of Hell.

The Blood of Dead trailers teases that players will have the opportunity to use Takeo’s sword similar to the opportunity they had in Revelations. The Ragnaroks, Electric Cherry, and Dual-Wielded Pistols will bring an explosive element to the penitentiary. Blood of the Dead appears to take place on an expanded Alcatraz but will still grant players access to the bridge that they first experienced in their original visit to Alcatraz. A new light blue perk machine can be seen during the trailer but could be a re-envisioning of Quick Revive. In the trailer, a green potion can be spotted showing off the “Always Done Swiftly” image.

Fire and Lava seem to be the theme of Blood of the Dead with a Flamethrower and a Molotov cocktail being utilized. From the trailer, Dempsey holdings Al’s Hat may be a key element to the Blood of the Dead Easter Egg. Dempsey is also seen sitting in the Warden’s office spinning a six-shooter; the six-shooter may be one step in the upcoming Easter egg or just homage to its predecessor. In the trailer, The Warden is seen dealing with Takeo and Nikolai by different means. The Warden is first seen carrying Takeo to the docks and throwing him into the Pacific Ocean; could this depiction mean that Takeo needs to be sacrificed near the docks for an Easter egg step or a simple visual to warn players of The Warden. The second depiction of sacrifice is when Nikolai is strung up over a river of lava. Nikolai is depicted carrying the Kronorium which means Blood of the Dead takes place after Revelations. Two interesting scenes stand out in particular. The first scene that seemed so peculiar is where Nikolai is shown beating a trapped crawler to death with his bare hands. The second eye-catching scene involves Richtofen grabbing a fire stone out of an open crater of lava. From the trailer, Blood of the Dead looks to bring an exciting spin to a former fan favorite map.

The second and almost as equally important announcement made by Treyarch is that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies Easter eggs will not be enabled until 10 AM PST/ 1 PM EST on October 12th. In their announcement, Treyarch stated that they wanted all players to be on the same level for trying to solve Black Ops 4’s Easter Eggs.

We also know how important it is for fans to discover the secrets hidden within each launch day experience together as a community. Therefore, in the spirit of doing everything we can to create a spoiler-free, 100% level playing field for Easter Egg hunters around the world, we’re trying something new for the first time: Black Ops 4 Zombies Easter Eggs will be enabled worldwide in Voyage of Despair, IX, Blood of the Dead, and Classified at 10 AM Pacific Time on Friday, October 12.

This announcement could mean that all future zombies easter eggs will launch at the same time on Xbox One, PC and PS4. From everything we have seen from Black Ops 4, we are excited to get our hands on Call of Duty Black Ops 4 this Friday.  BO4 Zombies information.
