Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee Officially Released

Team Pikachu, or Team Eevee? That’s the question Pokémon fans need to start asking themselves today with the official release of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee for the Nintendo Switch.

Along with the two games, Nintendo also released the Poké Ball Plus accessory today, which allows players to control the entire game using something that looks and feels like a real-world version of every  Pokémon trainer’s most vital accessory.

“For newer Pokémon fans, these games offer a great entry point to the Kanto region with a rich story full of memorable characters and RPG gameplay, while longtime fans can revisit the place where it all began to compete in tough new challenges and earn the title of Pokémon Master,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With the ability to play the games anytime, anywhere on Nintendo Switch, Pikachu and Eevee are the perfect travel companions this holiday season.”

The games were officially launched with a huge party at Nintendo New York in Rockerfeller Plaza. Nintendo decorated the store in full Pokémon gear to transport players to their own miniature version of the famous Kanto region from classic Pokémon games and shows. Fans who attended the event got to mingle with the two stars of the new games, along with other notable Pokémon characters such as Professor Oak, Brock, and Erica.
