Nothing quite says Christmas than a months late slightly Halloween intended episode of Daddy Gamer! So here is your holiday-themed (though the wrong holiday) video from us to you!
Major apologies to everyone for the long wait! Life has a way of distracting from the things we want to do with things we have to do. Before I knew it a couple months had gone by and my nearly complete episode still needed finishing. Well here it is!
This episode on Oxenfree was fun to make. Lil’ Gamer was so much more involved this time in the actual gaming side of it. She was able to follow the story and chime in with questions and thoughts about what was happening. I was even able to have a short conversation with her about it, which you’ll see in the episode! Her involvement in the episode gets bigger too, as she has more lines and screen time and I’m super proud of her! As she gets older her interests become clearer. With things like Ghostbusters and Over the Garden Wall being some of her favorite things this game fit right in with what she likes.
Oxenfree is a wonderful game! It utilizes the fact that it’s a game to sell its themes and storytelling very well. Becoming invested in the characters and getting that sense of unease when things start to go wonky is in that perfect level of eeriness that makes you feel just a bit creeped out. Oxenfree is very much in the same vein as the Twilight Zone, Stranger Things, or Over the Garden Wall. While not fully outright horror, it’s not short on spook. Definitely check it out!
