We are a week into the month of December and snow has fallen across a majority of North America. In recognition of the changing of seasons, Microsoft has prepared an adventure filled line up that will allow Xbox gamers to explore new and unfamiliar fantasy worlds. Although the December 2018 Games with Gold offer may not provide Gold members with modern AAA titles, it does offer open world experiences that will keep players entertained for hours. December’s offer will grant players a game from each era of Xbox. According to Major Nelson and the Xbox team, the ESRP for this assortment of games is $59.96.
The December 2018 Games with Gold offers are currently available to Xbox Live Gold members but sadly many Xbox Live gamers do not realize how to redeem these free offers or feel that the titles offered are lackluster. Throughout the month of December, Xbox Live Gold members have the opportunity to pick up and download for free Q.U.B.E 2, Never Alone, Dragon Age II, and Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. Since the announcement of Original Xbox backwards compatibility back at E3, Xbox gamers have wondered what Xbox titles might join Gamepass or Games with Gold.
From December 1st to December 15th, Xbox Live Gold members can download Dragon Age II on Xbox 360 and One. Spanning over a decade, players will mold their hero from an impoverished refuge to the champion of Kirkwall. Dragon Age II is often considered the black sheep of the Dragon Age franchise but could this massive RPG change its history in the modern era or continue to leave a tarnished memory.
Starting on December 16th, Gold members can download and explode terrains in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction while tracking down bounties. Mercenaries is free until December 31st on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Claim bounties by capturing or killing known criminals and turn the area into your own playground of destruction.
Q.U.B.E 2 might not be a game that everyone is aware of but through its mysterious puzzles and the eccentric world. Players must discover their way back home while questioning their own purpose, morality, and decisions. Q.U.B.E 2 is available from December 1st to December 31st for Xbox One.
Whenever you are feeling alone it can be a dark place. However when in that dark place a single helping hand can remind you that you are not alone. The last Games with Gold title for December is the cute adventure game Never Alone. Never Alone is the story of a young Iñupiat girl and her arctic fox who seek to find the source of the eternal blizzard. Never Alone is free to download from December 16th to January 15th.
Xbox Live Gold members can find the Games with Gold offers from the memberships tab in the games and apps section. Once the Gold member confirms the free purchase of the game it is theirs to keep even if their Xbox Live Gold membership expires.
