Diablo 3 Season 16 Goes Live for PC and Mac

Diablo 3 Season 16 Patch goes live

Since 2012 Diablo 3 has gone through a multitude of changes and with the newest season this trend continues bringing new reasons to team up with friends. Called “The Season of Grandeur” the new patch cosmetic options, seasonal challenges, and some general improvements to the game. A press release on the manner highlights the major changes.

Adding a bit of extra power to any class is the addition of all players getting a buff that mimics the Ring of Royal Grandeur. There is no need to equip the item to reap the rewards and it will last until the end of Season 16. Those hoping to double up on the ring’s benefits should know that this effect will not stack with additional Rings of Royal Grandeur. This also includes equipping the item via the Jewelry slow in Kanai’s Cube. Take this as an opportunity to experiment with new items!

According to the information release, the new cosmetic rewards through the Season Journey will include Helm and Shoulder slots for the Conqueror Set and new portrait frames. There are also new wings called the Wings of Lempo.

While I’m not as versed in the most recent changes to Diablo 3, some of the challenges look enticing and could make for a great weekend. A tough boss rush called World’s Apart will put players against a host of bosses, all at level 70 and Torment X. While this seems hard enough, the real test is the clock! Players must beat those bosses in under twenty minutes. Seems like just the thing that would make for a fun Twitch stream. Those bosses include:

  • The Skeleton King
  • The Butcher
  • Zoltun Kulle
  • Ghom
  • Cydaea
  • Rakanoth
  • Diablo
  • Adria
  • Queen Araneae
  • Maghda
  • Belial
  • Siegebreaker Assault Beast
  • Azmodan
  • Izual
  • Urzael
  • Malthael

Lastly, there is some player requested changed being implemented. One removes Legendary potions from player inventories to free up space, but there are also more changes to celebrating end-game loot in Primal Legendaries. There are further details available on the official Diablo 3 website. Note that as of now this is in regards to players on American servers and those who migrate over will not be able to return to their previous server until the patch becomes available there. Again, this content is for PC and Mac players and there were no details of when this will become available for console players.

This continued support of Diablo 3 makes for an easy excuse to return to the game from time to time. Share your Diablo 3 stories with us on social media!
