On Friday, GAEMS announced the Guardian XP Pro, a personal gaming environment designed not only for consoles, but also for a number of micro ATX form-factor PC cases.
We’ve previously covered GAEMS introduction of the Sentinel XP Pro, an all-in-one solution for the Xbox One, Xbox One S, PlayStation®4, and PlayStation®4 Pro. Now comes the Guardian XP Pro, a solution which features a 24″ monitor for hardcore gaming on the go.
“Gaming has changed radically since we launched our first Portable Gaming Environments in 2011,” says John Smith, co-founder of GAEMS. “Today’s gamers are also savvy professionals. Whether they compete in esports or generate unique gaming content, these professionals will appreciate how GAEMS integrated the highest-level performance gaming monitor and media tool suite into a single ultra-sleek yet portable package with Guardian.”
Some of the other important features of the Guardian XP Pro include a rear mounted HDMI port, a twelve watt power amp with nine watt speakers, and three USB ports. There’s also an external Picatinny Rail mounting system (something normally found on modern sporting rifles such as the AR-15). The spec sheet says that the rail can be used for “cameras, microphones, lighting and other equipment.” This also means that the Guardian XP Pro could, conceivably be mounted on a rail adapted tripod mount.
Also important for gamers and professional streamers on the go, the Guardian XP Pro is a hard-shell case that meets the form factor requirements for most carry-on luggage bins. The case also contains an internal storage area for controllers, phones, and other devices where they can safely and securely charge. GAEMS calls this the Guardian Media Center.
GAEMS will be exhibiting both the Sentinel XP Pro and Guardian XP Pro at the Showstoppers booth at CES this year. CES runs from January 8-11, this year, so there should be a lot more interesting hardware news coming this week.
