Kingdom Hearts III Face My Fears Leaks Early

Kingdom Hearts fans around the world have less than two weeks until the official release of Kingdom Hearts 3. In anticipation of the game’s official release, Hikaru Utada and Skrillex’s Song “Face My Fears” was scheduled to be released on January 18th, 2019, with the release of the official album.  Last week, a link appeared on the Skrillex SubReddit to a version of the Face My Fears track from the upcoming album.  Although this is an “HD” version of the track, it is possible that the song is a fan creation but seems improbable. On YouTube, there are multiple versions of Face My Fears including one that incorporates the theme song from Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2.

After listening to the rendition of the song, it is possible that the leaked adaptation is authentic and is fitting for the overarching theme of Kingdom Hearts 3.  The collision of a classic tone mixed with modern hip-hop and techno creates a mental image of two entities colliding. Face My Fears pairs with Utada Hikaru’s already smash hit, “Don’t Think Twice” to create a powerful and emotional feeling leading into the release of Kingdom Hearts 3.

So far, little information has been leaked about Kingdom Hearts 3’s story after copies of the game were leaked prior to the games official release. This is amazing due to the fact that the leak occurred over a month ago and typically leaks of that magnitude emerge within hours of the revelation.

Kingdom Hearts III is scheduled to be released on January 25th, 2019 in Japan and January 29th, 2019 for the rest of the world.  KH3 will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is available to pre-order on both consoles for $59.99 USD.

What do you think of Utada Hikaru’s Face My Fears and Don’t Think Twice? Does it get you excited for the game’s official release later this month? You can check out Face My Fears here.
