Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo’s Mario Kart game being developed for mobile devices, has now been delayed. The original release window was scheduled for sometime before March 2019, but has been pushed back till a window of summer 2019. This puts the release range between June and September.
From Nintendo’s financial report, “In the smart-device business, Mario Kart Tour was scheduled to be released this fiscal year, but in order to improve quality of the application and expand the content offerings after launch, the release date has been moved to summer 2019.”
“As we endeavor to develop future planned applications, we will also focus on continued service operations for applications that have already been released so that consumers can enjoy playing them for a long time.”
Mario Kart Tour was originally announced last year, during the previous financial report. The developer of the game, DeNA confirmed before that Mario Kart Tour would take after the previous Nintendo mobile game Super Mario Run and be “free-to-start.” While we are still in the dark on mostly everything about the game, the release is coming closer and closer.
