New Emotional Kingdom Hearts III Trailer Debuts

New Emotional Kingdom Hearts III Trailer Debuts

Yesterday afternoon at the Japan vs Uzbekistan Asian Cup soccer match, Square Enix debuted a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III. With Kingdom Hearts III less than two weeks away, it seems Square Enix is trying to build as much hype as possible. The new trailer focuses on emotions and hints towards an epic showdown. Will three be the last time we see Sora, Riku, and Kairi?

As previously stated, the new trailer focuses predominately on emotions. The first thirty seconds of the trailer is an assortment of different Kingdom Hearts fans explaining how the game has changed their lives.  After listening to the words of just a select few, the trailer shows why the game has been so successful. At the bottom, I will include my own personal memories of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Now, let’s break down the trailer.

At the moment, we know that Olympus, Tangled, Pirates of The Caribbean, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Toy Story, and Monsters INC are just a few of the Disney worlds in Kingdom Hearts III. In Olympus, players will most likely have to battle the five titans and help Hercules save the gods of Olympus. With Kingdom Hearts 3 allowing five-player parties, will Pegasus and Hercules be the two characters or will a different one be offered? The trailer also hints that no matter where Sora goes there will be trouble and potentially betrayal.

In KHIII, Players will have the opportunity to battle Davy Jones, a Dinosaur, and much more. In the trailer, Buzz can be seen shooting at Woody which hints at Sora’s friends being controlled by Organization XIII.  It appears that some iconic moments from some Disney movies will make an appearance; this can be seen when Hercules frees the gods and Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder release the lanterns.

Kingdom Hearts III is rumored to have the biggest assortment of Disney characters to date including Remmy, Stitch, Ariel, Simba, and Ralph. The trailer hints that mobility will be a primary focus of KHIII with Sora flying around on different objects.

At the end of the trailer, Sora and the gang face the Xenohorts in the Keyblade Graveyard. Things appear to be bleak as the forces of light are overwhelmed by the forces of darkness. The trailer ends with Riku holding off a swarm of heartless and Sora struggling against Master Xenohort.

Kingdom Hearts III is scheduled to be released on January 25th, 2019 in Japan. The rest of the world will have access to KHIII on January 29th. KH 3 is available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

I first fell in love with the franchise when my friend Treyvaugn and I would stay up to 2 am each night marathoning through the first Kingdom Hearts.  When Kingdom Hearts 2 was released we sold some of our PS2 and Gamecube games in order to buy Kingdom Hearts 2. My love for Kingdom Hearts would ultimately lead me to dating a girl in California because of her user name Keybladeangel on League of Legends. Kingdom Hearts has been a part of my life for over a decade and has led to some crazy adventures.  We would love to hear about how the Kingdom Hearts franchise has affected your life.

Square Enix is also holding a giveaway in celebration of the game’s release; below is their official message about the competition.
