Rumor – List of Games Leaked for February 2019 Nintendo Direct

Massive news has broke today regarding tomorrows Nintendo Direct. First and foremost: These are RUMORS as they do not have an official source. So your gift bag from this post has a bag of salt with it, not just a grain.

Today on 4Chan there was a post made, which included quite a large list of games that are going to shown in the Direct. Again, this has no sustenance as 1) it was a post made on 4Chan, and 2) there hasn’t been any official announcements as to what will be in the Direct except for Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

You can view that post over on 4Chan here.

Now, there are some games on this list that we SHOULD expect. Let’s go through them quickly.

With Pirahna Plant out in the wild in Smash already, and the announcement of Joker coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate two months ago, we can assume we see gameplay of him. Animal Crossing has already been officially announced, also around two months ago; with its release scheduled for this year, we should be able to expect to see some sort of gameplay already at this point. Pokemon is in the same boat as well. Nintendo said at E3 2018 that a core Pokemon game was in development for this year. With it already being halfway through February, we should have SOMETHING to see on this title. Final Fantasy VII was already announced in Fall 2018 to come to the Switch at a later date, so an announcement of that date, or even an “available now” from what the post says, is not unlikely.

Breath.

It has been found in the code for Nintendo Switch Online that there were Super Nintendo game names in there, so an announcement for this to come is not out of the question. You can read about that here. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is also another one that has been boiling a little with news recently. Over on a UK based website Base.com, there were listings for preorders for Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and DAEMON X MACHINA. There is a possibility that this was a correct leak and they will officially announce when those titles are coming out tomorrow. New game from the Hollow Knight developers? Not a surprise. Hollow Knight has done phenomenally on the Switch. Another game that would not surprise me if they showed more on is Town, which was announced back in Fall 2018. Super Mario Maker, seeing as it has been rumored to be coming to the Switch, and is also on Nintendo’s last two consoles, is also not out of the question.

Now for things “to be unsure of.”

With Metroid Prime 4 scraped and development restarting, it wouldn’t be unheard of for Nintendo to get the rumored trilogy out earlier rather than wait. Pikmin games I personally am unsure of, as I have not played them, but I also haven’t heard any news on them coming to Switch. At least not yet. Spyro The Reignited Trilogy I wanted to add to the “should expect” list, but it’s still in the air. Although Gamestop Germany slipped and listed it on their site. So it may not be as far-fetched as we think. Also seeing as the Crash Bandicoot trilogy is on the Switch, we should expect Spyro to as well. As for Erdrick and Sephiroth, I’m taking a guess in my own opinion that those are not true. If they reveal gameplay for Ultimates Joker, I don’t think they will spend too much time further on that title, with everything else to go over. The long-rumored Star Fox racing game is also on the list, but I cannot decide if that could happen or not. Something that big I would think Nintendo would have announced it already, especially if it was scheduled for this year.

Now two of these titles I’d like to talk about separately. The first is Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far. Nintendo fans have been begging for some sort of Kingdom Hearts on the Switch, seeing as the main titles in the series were Playstation exclusive. With the success of Kingdom Hearts 3, which also released on the Xbox One, Switch owners have been vocal, “Why wasn’t this brought to the Switch too?” Although today, something interesting popped up. Kingdom Hearts co-creator Shinji Hashimoto took to Twitter to retweet posts about the upcoming Direct. “But Logan, that’s not out of the ordinary for gaming icons to do that, what is so special?” I hear you, hear me out. He retweeted two tweets about the Direct. Why is he so excited about this Direct that he wanted to have that much visibility of it? Stay tuned.

The second title is no other than The Legend of Zelda, which is listed as a “tentative title.” I’m a huge LoZ fan, and I loved Breath of the Wild, and have been dying for more Zelda, especially on my Switch. Whether it is in the form of a remake/remaster, or a new title, I’ve just been wanting anything at all. While it being on here as a tentative title, it makes me think that it is a new title coming. While I will play any new Zelda title, I am personally hoping that this a placeholder title and they will announce something like Windwaker HD or Twilight Princess HD being ported to the Switch. I’m dying to set sail in Windwaker again while on the go.

So that is the current layout before tomorrow. Hopefully, you stuck with me through this. What are all of your thoughts and opinions on these rumors? Let us know in the comments below. We are close to finding out. A few of us here are hoping to see more of Animal Crossing and its release date for this year.
