Earlier this year, Sony announced that they would not be attending E3 this year. At the time, many presumed that this absence was due to a lack of exclusive titles coming to the PlayStation 4 this upcoming year. Since that announcement, very little information has been released regarding the reasons why Sony will not be attending E3 2019. With E3 2019 just around the corner, many are concerned about the release dates for Death Stranding and The Last of Us 2.
This morning, Sony’s David Bull, Global Brand Manager, announced via the PlayStation Blog that Death Stranding would release later this year. Death Stranding, the latest project from former Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, will be available on November 8th for the PlayStation 4. In celebration of the major announcement, Hideo Kojima discussed what players should expect from Death Stranding upon its release.
‘People have created “Walls” and become accustomed to living in isolation.
“Death Stranding” is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.
Now, please enjoy the latest Death Stranding trailer.’
The new trailer for Death Stranding is rather lengthy so we will let you digest it and would love to hear what you think. Death Stranding is the story of Sam Bridges, a man who must traverse a broken nation to rebuild a world for those who are yet to come. Help Sam as he attempts to save mankind from their own destructive ways and stop a mass extinction.
