Earlier this year, Bungie announced that they would be separating from Blizzard-Activision. Since then, the fate of Bungie and Destiny has been up in the air with many Guardians concerned. Have the Guardians of light been overtaken by the forces of evil? Earlier today, Dataminers discovered the Fall expansion for Destiny 2. This fall, Destiny 2 will welcome Destiny 2 Shadow Keep to the franchise.
With E3 less than a week away, the leak train keeps rolling with Destiny 2 jumping aboard. As we stated earlier, the Destiny 2 Shadow Keep leak emerged due to data miners. Early this afternoon, a Reddit user by the handle ahumbleGODamongstmen exclaimed, “We have successfully Datamined the Fall Expansion.” The post went on to state that the primary enemy will be the Hive. The legendary and fan favorite gun, Bad Juju has also been decoded.
At the moment, Bungie is expected to officially reveal Destiny 2 Shadowkeep during a live-stream on Thursday afternoon. Although Bungie has separated from Activision, it appears that former PlayStation exclusivity rights might be upheld due to this announcement.
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep will take place on the moon. The moon was originally one of the key locations in the original Destiny. Shadowkeep and the moon are the birthplace of Wizards. Since the release of Destiny 2, the Wizard class has felt rather lackluster and overshadowed by the Hunter and Titan. The last 2 major expansions of Destiny 2 have focused on the two other subclasses.
In 2017, Bungie released Destiny 2. Many in the video game industry expected that either Destiny 3 or expansion would be announced during E3 2019. With the announcement of Xbox Scarlet and PlayStation 5 still pending, many studios seem to be holding off on major announcements. The release of Destiny 3 could be a great money maker for Bungie. The original release and a secondary release on a newer console could double down Bungie’s profits.
Hopefully, a preview of Destiny 2 Shadowkeep will be at E3 2019. We will keep an eye out for the demo while walking around the E3 show floor. Maybe we will even have the chance to give away a few codes from the event if we are lucky. Personally, I like many others have lost interest in Destiny 2. The games repetitiveness and constant grinding grew old quickly leaving only the dedicated fans behind.
