Recently sharing some news, Sea of Thieves creator Rare announced via the games official Twitter account that a tabletop version of the game would be coming out soon. Surprisingly, Rare’s official website has not made an official post about the upcoming game but we could expect one within the coming weeks. According to the Twitter announcement, The Sea of Thieves board game will be published by Mongoose Publishing.
The Sea of Thieves Roleplaying Game will have pirate crews race other pirates to buried treasure, fight Skeleton Captains on tropical islands, tackle Voyages for the Gold Hoarders, Order of Soul,s and Merchant Alliance, wade through treacherous weather, and battle against legendary beasts such as Megalodons and Krakens as they attempt to sink galleons and ruin crews’ hard work. Will players find glory at Skeleton forts or will they have to battle others for the glorious plunder.
The Sea of Thieves Roleplaying Game set will include:
- Book of Pirates
- Lord of the Sea Tome
- Book of Voyages
- The Sea of Thieves Poster Map
- Pirate Ledgers Cards
- Legendary Dice
- Supply Tokens
- Weapons Cards and Quest Cards

Pre-orders are available now, with access to the e-book version right away. The physical versions of the game are set to be shipped out in October of this year. Earlier this year, Sea of Thieves marked its one-year anniversary and needless to say it has been a wild voyage. Hopefully, the Sea of Thieves Roleplaying Game as extravagant as its PC and Xbox counterpart.
