SEGA Ages gets Two New Games

Sega Ages two new games

Even with the Nintendo Switch’s lack of a native Virtual Console, it has not been neglected in the retro game front. Sega has been working with developer M2 to port Genesis, Arcade, and Master System games over to the eShop as enhanced versions, coined under the Sega Ages umbrella. Yesterday on June 27th, Sega released two additional games.

The first game is Wonder Boy: Monster Land. This Master System classic is the second game in the Wonder Boy action role playing series. Wonder Boy stars in this chaotic platforming adventure with a goal to defeat the evil fire breathing Dragon, MEKA, and restore peace and sanctity to Wonder Land. This game’s sequel, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, was remade for current generation consoles back in 2017, and shares similar gameplay.

The second game, released today, is Virtua RacingVirtua Racing is an arcade Formula One racer, with a strategic twist in which players need to manage mileage and when to make pit stops. This is the first official release that faithfully recreates the original 1992 arcade version.

Both Wonder Boy: Monster Land and Virtua Racing are available today, for $7.99, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch eShop. For more information on these and other classic Sega games, you can check out the official Sega Ages website.
