With E3 less than a week away, rumors and leaks are to be expected. So far, a few rumors have emerged, including Dead Island 2 being relisted on the Microsoft store. With only seven days to go, it appears as if a top Ubisoft franchise will have a potential showing at E3 2019 if a new Amazon UK leak is to be believed. This latest potential leak is for Watch Dogs Legion or Watch Dogs 3.
Earlier today, thenerdmag reported that Watch Dogs Legion had appeared on the Amazon store and that the listing did belong to Ubisoft or a third-party. Last year, Walmart Canada leaked Rage 2 and other popular franchises before their official E3 announcement. Watch Dogs 2 released in 2016, so it would come as little surprise that after 3 years we would get a third entry, especially considering Ubisoft’s release trends.
Below included the game’s listing details from Amazon UK’s post. Note that there are some typos in the post itself.
Watch_Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillce levels in the world making this the perfect playground.
Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems
If the post is to be believed, Watch Dogs Legion will take place in London and have no primary protagonist. This would be a first for Ubisoft and could steer players away from the game due to it being starkly different than the other games. If Ubisoft is able to institute a similar style to say Grand Theft Auto Online, it could be a really interesting and successful pivot for the Watch Dogs brand.
Ubisoft is scheduled to hold its E3 2019 press conference on Monday, June 10th at 12:30 p.m. Pacific time / 3:30 p.m. Eastern time. With Assassin’s Creed supposedly taking a year off, Watch Dogs could be this year’s big reveal unless another Far Cry or a whole new title steals the thunder.
As with any leak, we’ll have to wait and see if this is anything like the hilariously accurate ones from Walmart Canada.
E3 2019 excitement is mounting and we’ll have some of the latest and greatest right here on Marooners’ Rock, voice actor Carlos Ferro certainly has some confidence for Microsoft and Gears of War and one of the big games from Square Enix comes from the Marvel universe. We’ll also continue keeping up with indies and some of the more obscure titles like Subscribe My Adventure that could be overshadowed during this month, so be sure to check back often.
