Borderlands 3 is nearly upon us. Releasing in September, Borderlands 3 is the sequel to the highly-acclaimed loot shooter from Gearbox. In preparation for the anticipated sequel, Gearbox has released a helpful video guide highlighting the game’s features.
For veteran Borderlands players, many features showcased in the video will look familiar. It’s clear that Gearbox is sticking to the original formula. The video gives more detail on the four new Vault Hunters, the gun manufacturers, and various other mechanics that fans will surely get excited about.
Story-wise, the video doesn’t give any new information. We still know that the game’s big baddies are the Calypso Twins and their army of cultists. The game will take place on various planets this time around, which is new for the series that mainly took place on Pandora. The Pre-Sequel technically takes place on the moon. Still, it’s welcoming to see multiple planets that we can shoot and loot through.
Lilith, the new Commander of the Crimson Raiders, talks about the four Vault Hunters: FL4K, Moze, Zane, and Amara.
FL4K the Beastmaster is a robot that will always three animal companions to choose from: a skag, a mechanical monkey, and a spiderant. One of these adorable creatures will always be by FL4K’s side as he makes his way through the game.
Moze the Gunner will have a giant mech that she can summon. Her mech will come equipped with multiple heavy machinery weapons such as rockets, miniguns, and flamethrowers.
Amara looks to be the melee-focused character of Borderlands 3. To make things even more awesome, she happens to be a Siren. Sirens in the Borderlands universe are fierce warriors with mystical (and badass) powers. Amara can unleash four giant arms that can pound enemies into the dirt. She can also bring a giant hand from the ground that traps enemies in an orb, similar to Maya’s Phaselock in Borderlands 2.
Last, but not least, is Zane the Operative. Zane is a spy-like character with a few tricks up his sleeve. He can throw a Digi-clone of himself, summon a deadly drone, or bring up a giant shield that he can shoot through for increased damage.
Players can actually play around with the skill trees at this very moment on the Borderlands website. Here, they can help prepare themselves as having to choose between four awesome playable characters will be no easy task.
Borderlands 3 releases on September 13 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Check out our hands-on with the game at E3 here.
