MISTOVER Gets Launch Date and Additional Platform

It’s no secret that several of us here on Marooners’ Rock are very excited about MISTOVER, the upcoming turn-based RPG from KRAFTON Game Union. Now it looks as though the wait is nearing an end. Not only that, but gamers will have another option for which platform to experience this anticipated game.

In the latest announcement from studio headquarters in Seoul, KRAFTON Game Union set the official worldwide launch date for MISTOVER as October 10th, 2019. In addition, the Sony PlayStation®4 console family goins the Nintendo Switch™ and PCs (via Steam) as a launch platform for the game.

We previously learned a lot about the game in our wide-reaching interview with Will Seunghwan Sin, Project Manager for the MISTOVER team. Some of the game highlights include an ever changing dungeon complex, as befits the game’s roguelike roots, and over forty hours of expeditions through five distinct regions.

Attack formation! Well, some kind of formation, at least.

Players will need to shepherd their Corps crew through over thirteen unique skills, while balancing the internal conflict between satisfaction and greed. Exposure to the titular Mist effects everything in the game. Corps members, monsters, plants, even equipment and items all change through the course of the game.

MISTOVER is designed to appeal to the Dark Souls difficulty crowd, with a permadeath system for characters which could mean that a favorite gets taken away at just the wrong time. There’s always a newbie to take his or her place, but that’s a slim consolation sometimes.

On release, MISTOVER will be priced at $29.99 USD. To stay up to date on the latest developments, interested gamers can check out the official website, join the discussion on the Steam forums, follow the team on Twitter, and visit the official YouTube channel for the latest trailers and character reveals. This title is rated “T for Teen” by the ESRB.
