Robot Entertainment Announces Orcs Must Die! 3 as Google Stadia Exclusive

Over the years, I’ve been a fan of the work at Robot Entertainment. During that time, I’ve had quite a few friends working at Robot Entertainment and would visit them at PAX events. We’ve had games such as Orcs Must Die, Orice Must Die! Unchanged, Orcs Must Die! 2 and even Halo Wars and more come from the developer/publisher. The team at Robot Entertainment are known when it comes to games they’ve worked and created. Alas, over the years I haven’t heard much coming from the team since the downsizes of the company. However, since they’ve been talking to Google production seems to have picked right up.

Now the developer Robot Entertainment has revealed Orcs Must Die! 3, which will be a Stadia exclusive. Featured below are some quotes from CEO Patrick Hudson who posted on the Orcs Must Die official subreddit to share the reasons behind this new decision.

“We met with Google to learn more about Stadia for our other projects,” he continued. “We discovered that the people at Google are big fans of OMD. That led to an exploration of what might be possible with an OMD game on Stadia. We both got excited about our ideas and decided to go after it.

“OMD3 would not be possible today without Google’s support. They are behind the game in a big way. We’ve hired more developers to bring it to life. It’s the OMD game that fans of the first two games have been wanting, and we’re thrilled that we have the opportunity to make it.

“When OMD3 releases in spring 2020, it will be a timed exclusive on Stadia. We’ll say more about other platforms in the future.”

As you just read, the game will release in Spring 2020, and there is a chance for it to come to consoles and PC at a later date. There is a nice developers trailer for you to check out below for those of you wanting to see more of the game.
