New WWE 2K20 Career Mode Features Announced

Roman Reigns key figure in WWE 2k20 Tower

Over the last month, we have covered a variety of breaking WWE 2K20 announcements. Needless to say, we are eagerly awaiting the release of the next WWE videogame. After a controversial WWE Hell in a Cell PPV, many WWE fans have lost faith in WWE’s product. Although we disagree with the choices made for the WWE 2K20 soundtrack, we expect that the WWE superstar’s theme songs will be playable instead. Earlier today, 2K announced new information regarding WWE 2k20’s Career Mode.

Earlier this year, 2K announced that WWE 2K20 will be the first WWE game to star both a male and a female wrestler in my career mode. The original announcement implied that the career modes for each gender would be separate however that does not seem to be the case. For the first time ever,  players will have the opportunity to create both female and male MyPLAYERs in WWE 2K20 MyCAREER Mode. The player will have the opportunity to craft the players as they desire but their backstories and names have already been set in stone. Career Mode will focus on Red and Tre, two lifelong best friends as they journey from wrestling hopefuls in highschool to WWE Hall of Famers.

My Career Mode Breakdown

WWE 2K20 Career Mode will feature 18 chapters, approximately 100 matches, and performances from more than 40 WWE Superstars, NXT Superstars, and WWE Legends. Career Mode will supposedly take up to 20 hours to complete. The narrative starts with Tre and Red discussing their wrestling careers on the day of their Hall of Fame Introductions. Players will play through the two best friends recollection of their first matches, training, and experience through the indies, and breaking into WWE. Career Mode will have the player wrestling individually or in the all-new Mixed Tag match feature. How will branching narratives and an easy go-between portal alter the MyCareer mode experience?

As the player progress through My Career Mode, they will unlock new features. Players will be able to Unlock WWE Legends, Career-specific Superstar attires, original characters and unique environments like “Hell’s Colosseum” and a special New Day themed arena. The player will be able to track Red and Tre’s career progress with “The List.” The list is a set of goals that Red and Tre aspired to accomplish before becoming WWE Hall of Famers; this will be their road map to success. How many will you complete before reaching the WWE Hall of Fame? How will your decisions in My Career mode affect the matches Red and Tre compete in, who they team with, and possibly even lead to some alternate outcomes? Explore different choices to see what paths they might lead you down.

Buzz and Cole Returning!

We are excited to announce that Buzz and Cole Quinn will be returning from WWE 2K19’s MyCareer Mode; this means an all-new Buzz and Cole show Podcast. According to 2K, Red and Tre will cross through an interdimensional portal to try to find the Undertaker who hasn’t been seen in years, encountering various surprises along the way. Will the Fiend or Kane play a pivotal role in the Undertaker’s disappearance? WWE 2K20 aims to be the biggest career mode to date. With over 40 WWE superstars lending their voice to the game. Players will hear newly-voice superstars such as Ronda Rousey, The New Day, Becky Lynch, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, The IIconics, Samoa Joe and more.
