Riverbond heads to the Nintendo Switch this December

The fast-paced voxel co-op action RPG Riverbond has hit a tremendous amount of success since launching on PC and PlayStaiton 4 over the Summer. Now the team sets their sites on new land to conquer as a release date has been announced for the Nintendo Switch. On December 10th, Riverbond will launch on the Nintendo eShop, bringing the acclaimed action-adventure to the Nintendo Switch for play at home and on-the go. To celebrate the game’s success, December 10th also marks the launch of a special treat for Switch owners of Riverbond, as well as those that have a quired the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.

Riverbond will launch a brand new content update, featuring a new land and new enemies. Developers Cococucumber have crafted the land of Crystalwatch, a new and vibrant fantasy world overrun by terrifying lizard warriors and reptilian monstrosities. In this dangerous land lie previous gems and new allies. Cococucumber has called in for assistance and they com in the form of new indie crossovers, such as The Kid from Bastion and the legend himself, Shovel Knight. Players traverse the land as their favorite hero, fight the unending hordes of monsters, slay screen-filling bosses, and ultimately win the loot.

Riverbond was polished and made to be an accessible experience for all players and players levels. From kids to adults, Riverbond is meant to be enjoyable and fun for players of all ages and for those that have rarely picked up a controller. Riverbond can be played in solo or drop/drop-out co-op. Players utilize an abundance of weapons, from ranged weapons, such as giant sticks, to more modern weapons, such as ray guns. Riverbond has a large assortment of worlds to explore, from caverns to castles to wide open lands and a talent music composition from composers Mike Rocha and Ryan Roth help elevate the atmosphere and the thrill of victory.

With Cococumber bringing Riverbond to the Nintendo Switch, the team is hoping to plug into a new audience and give new players an opportunity to experience enjoyable, action-packed gameplay that encourages players to think, act, and have fun. “We’re inspired by cooperative RPGs and classic action games of yesteryears and look forward to welcoming players with a wonderful and spirited adventure,” said Vanessa Chia, Co-Founder and Art Director, Cococucumber. “Riverbond marries the fast-paced action we’re so nostalgic for with modern gameplay and drop-in-drop-out co-op and, giving friends and families dazzling new worlds to explore together on Nintendo Switch.”

Riverbond launches on Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 for the Nintendo Switch eShop, with the new content update also arriving the same day for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
